This is what John originally said:

As a football lover (is there any other game?) I have run many football related competitions over the years.

Many years ago I mentioned to a work colleague, and dear friend (Steve Calkin), how good it would be to get this thing organised properly with a spreadsheet to control the scoring and a website to allow all participants easy access to the current leader board.

Luckily (for me) Steve is a genius, and lucky for him he found a superb spreadsheet to base our competition on. The original Excel spreadsheet was created by Giulio F. De Feudis and has formed the basis for all of our competitions. Thank you Giulio.

The Excel spreadsheet controls all results for the specified competition. Any number of participants can compete, the results are keyed in once and the macros then calculate the points scored by each participant and generates the leader board for saving to the web.

Since John's passing we tried to continue with the competitions but gave up in 2017, it just didn't feel the same.
